Nokia's latest Business cellphone, the Nokia E72 is finally out and ready for selling in India. The E72 is a improved version of the E71.
The E72 has a number of improvements like:
5 megapixels camera (with flash)
Optical Navigation Key, which makes browsing photos and web pages more fun
In-built Ovi Support
Larger screen
Ultimate 3.5 G (Speeds upto 10+ Mbps)
GPS, etc.
With so much in hand, the Nokia E72 costs Rs 22,898/- which is quite a decent launch price. With the company being Nokia, we can be sure that the price will drop in the upcoming months (Remember 5800, how it's prices dropped from 28,000 to 14,000 within an year). Nokia is surely going to reduce prices of the Nokia E 63 and Nokia E 71 to groom its Christmas Line-up. And the E72 will be in the spotlight.
The Ultimate Chrome Themes Advert on Youtube
November 27, 2009
Google was always partial when advertising it's products on it's site. Like the always empty Google homepage showed the "Download Google Chrome" box when they released it. All Google sites like Orkut, Youtube, etc. showed "Try this website in a new browser" text. And now, they have released a new advertisement of Google Chrome themes which is the Ultimate of them all. It defies all laws of Youtube.
You can check out the video here, and you should definitely watch the ending. It will blow you up.

An important Day in the History of Torrents
November 26, 2009
Today is an important day in the history of torrents, as one of the best and most popular torrent distribution site, Mininova.org limits itself to content distribution. Probably while it is a win-win for the anti-piracy group, it's a big loss for the millions of people that flocked to Mininova everyday in search of some great programs, movies, music and games.
Mininova announced it's limitation implementation here: Mininova Blog.
Mininova was the primary hood for many of the best rippers like xRG, Klown, ESPALPSP, aXXo, Bugz Bunny and countless others that provided quality content to the world. Too bad it had to end like this. The homepage of Mininova went through a drastic change too, with more images on display than ever.
Here are some comments from Mininova fans:
"THIS CANT BE TRUE, HAVE VISITED YOU EVERY DAY FOR YEARS, YOU HAVE TAUGHT ME EVERYTIHNG THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT COMPUTERS AND PROGRAMMES, YOU WILL BE VERY SADLY MISSED (EYES ARE FILLING UP)……….COME BACK……………………..PLZ"

What people do with their Old Cellphones
November 25, 2009
New cellphones release every month nowadays, and it is pretty hard to keep up with them. With the tendency of people (especially teenagers and youngsters) to keep up with the latest trends, they might change cellphone numerous times in an year. What do they do with their old phones? I wanted to find out.
My answers came from myLot. Where one person had already asked this question. I carefully read the responses and interesting results were churned out.
Most of the people said that they usually donated their cellphones to a charity, or gave it to their relatives, since they boasted of no monetary value. One or two people sold their old cellphones over eBay, and some actually kept it with them as a memorabilia.
Whatever you do, just make good use of your old cellphone. Consider Recycling it at the Nokia recycle centre.

Google Chrome OS boots up in 7 seconds!
November 23, 2009
Unbelievable, Isn't it? But it is as true as it sounds, the upcoming OS from Google (Which you can currently run on virtual machines) will boot up in just 7 seconds. Google names it "The Chromium Operating System" which is a completely Internet based operating system, which will be incorporated in netbooks by Summer 2010.
The Operating system will reside in the memory itself, rather than slow and bulky hard-drives which is on of the reason for it's quick boot up. Google announced this operating system about 3-4 months back, and since then there were a lot of rumours about the opertaing system. As the fog fades, more relevant and clear information is coming out. BTW, you can test Google Chromium OS yourself if you want to, by running it on a virtual machine. Scroll at the end of the article for a tutorial on this.
Google says that the Chromium OS boots up just as quick as your TV, which is definitely a nice thing, as one major reason for which I preferred cellphones over PCs was that they always remains on, allowing me to quickly surf the web, check the mail, or listen to some nice tunes. People with an unlimited Internet plan will be able to take full use of the Operating system, as it needs to log you into your google account even before it starts. Anyways, stakes are high this time and we hope this OS is a huge success. And for all you non-techies, "Don't call it Android, please"
Here is the tutorial: (As promised)

The New Revolution in Mobile Gaming: Sony Ericcson Yari
November 16, 2009
The Sony Ericcson Yari is another mobile gaming revolution from Sony. First let's go through it's features. The Yari features a gorgeous 2.4 inch screen, along with a 5 MP Camera which has a plethora of extras like autofocus, face detection, and movement detection. Then to add to the features there are all the set of a multimedia phone, like music playback, video playback, and the inbuild accelerometer provides some fun changes in the UI too.
Connectivity options include USB, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS, 3G, but unfortunately, no Wi-Fi. Poor Yari, I must say.
The place where the phone strikes gold is in gaming. The phone doesnt have any dedicated graphics processor or anything, but the camera on it detects movements (As mentioned above), which helps in motion gaming just like you must have seen in Xbox Natal or PS3 Eye toy. This is a great upliftment from Accelerometer based gaming seen in earlier cellphones. An intelligent camera is the secret to the Yari's gaming revolution. Let's see how well it does.
The Price of Sony Ericcson Yari in India is approximately Rs.16,000

Firefox celebrates it's 5th anniversary
November 15, 2009
On Monday, Mozilla Firefox completed it's 5th anniversary. This open source browser that started from scratch is now a formidable competitor to many popular browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, Opera and Google Chrome. Mozilla Firefox crossed over 1 billion download by 330 million users over the Internet. It is also the most used browser that comes built-in with most Linux OS.
I find it one if the most innovative and secure browser over the web. It has got some really cool features like add-ons, plugins, themes, personas that make web browsing so much easy and fun. It was built on the foundation of the Netscape browser, which I think went extinct in the competiton.
Firefox is currently in it's 3.5th version, with the 3.6 beta already available for download.

A cool super value touch laptop from Acer
November 13, 2009
Till now, only a singular touch laptop dominated the scene, which was the HP touchsmart notebook, incredibly powerful, incredibly stylish, incredibly unaffordable. To give some (tough) competition to the King, Acer recently launched it's Windows 7 run touch notebook, and after reading it's specifications and price, I find it amazingly underpriced. I mentioned in one of my recent post about Windows 7 kickstarting the touch era.
Now talking about the laptop, it is running Windows 7 Home Premium, has 3 GB RAM, and a 512 MB Graphics Card. A killer rig, isn't it? The only flaw I can find is that it is run by a Pentium based processor, which is quite outdated, to put it right. But with such heavy memory on-board, performance might not really be a problem.
And the thing that puts it in the limelight is it's multiple-touch supporting capacitive touchscreen. Windows 7 takes it to a whole new level, but the only thing I fear is the Pentium Processor integration, which might act as a downgrade. Probably the 512 MB graphics card and 3 GB RAM give enough horsepower to enjoy High definition multimedia, high end games, and memory famished applications like Photoshop, web design, though 3D design still remains a doubt.
But priced at a very very reasonable Rs. 41,000 this laptop gives the best value for money, in the touch market. The capacitive touchscreen takes it on an even higher level, as it goes for superior touch experience and multiple touch detection.
So my eyes are already glued to this cool laptop, don't let this slip away from you. I do expect a price drop in Christmas next month when products like the Sony Vaio L will arrive in the market, though the drop will be just 2-3k, you can however expect a similar product with hopefully a better processor.
Toodles for now,

November 9, 2009
My PC was in a really bad state till now, so I utilized this weekend to configure my PC. I just reformatted and installed a fresh new Windows XP and am currently installing Linux.
I will be using Linux for Internet browsing since it's the safest OS you can find, while XP will be utilized for tasks like Image editing, music management, etc. Ciao!
